I was feeling restless tonight, and had a sudden burst of creative energy with which I created this. The model is the same one that I used for "
Among the Moons". It was modelled in 3ds max 2011, UV mapped with Roadkill 1.1 and Maya 2011, textured with Zbrush 4, Darktree 2.51, and Photoshop CS3, and lit and rendered with Maya 2011 and mental ray. The background planet was also rendered with Maya 2011 and mental ray, with textures modified from a NASA map of the Jovian moon Callisto. The nebula was painted in Photoshop, using a
starfield stock by the talented
freelancah, and
cloud photography stock from
grace-stock. Additional whisps were generated with Apophysis 2.09.
