Folding

A professor in my department asked me to do a design for a poster for an upcoming protein folding conference. The previous design had used a paper crane as its logo, and so I decided to try modelling a paper crane in 3D. It turns out to be a pretty hard shape to model, but I got it in the end.

This was my favourite of the potential designs for the poster, though as it turned out, they went with another design. This was modelled and rendered with Maya 7.0 and mental ray, and tweaked with Photoshop.
