I've been working on a paper all day, and I had an overwhelming urge to do something artistic to get my mind off it for a little while. I started doodling in Blender and Photoshop, and here's the result of about an hour and a half's work.
Thanks! The clouds were actually painted in Photoshop. I like adding some smoke or mist to an image to tone down the crisp "computer-generated" look. Even in a space scene, I find it helps, despite not being totally scientifically accurate.
An ancient ship, ghostly and silent, drifting through a distant nebula or orbiting within the upper reaches of a gas giant. There is no telling how many decades, centuries or millenia it has been slowly moving through the icy vastness. Nice work.
